Our Taillight Housings are simply the best available in the market. Yes, we do know there are others available. However, since the tooling needed in order to make them in the exact same way VW did back in the 1950s there is a lot of investment needed.

Deep drawn stamping dies are the only way to achieve housings that look and feel exactly like the originals. Problem is deep drawn stamping dies are expensive. That is why you can find some reproductions out there that simply look and feel funny. We at DKB invested thousands of dollars for the right tooling and it did pay off. We now have original standard housings available for all the early VW models: Split “Round” (1950-52), “Heart” (1952-55) and “Egg” (1954-55 US Only) Taillights.
